Bronze medal|Pian chair

:::

I hope to create a daily chair suitable for flexible use in the studio, so I did not pursue too much sense of form or visual effects in form, but made some new attempts in structure. The suspended seat is made of a whole board, and the bottom is made of Hidden support has been added, and the connecting parts on both sides have also been greatly strengthened. The front and rear legs are sloped to increase stability. The connection between the seat surface and the front legs uses a dovetail structure. The inclination and the support of the rear legs create a backward and downward force, which makes the sitting more comfortable and does not allow the body to slide forward. This is a chair suitable for work, so I hope to take into account the flexibility of the upper body and continuous comfort. The flat wooden surface is used to maintain the mobility of the body, so that the body can be in a concept of changing working forms at any time. The backrest is handmade. The original color vegetable tanned cowhide is sewn, and the weaving effect suspended on three sides and the detachable structure are designed. The use of leather reduces the overall weight of the chair, and the flexibility of the leather also adds the best backrest feeling to the backrest. It is compact and comfortable. The restrained slope and the unique flexibility of leather keep the body from being completely relaxed, but ensure continuous comfort. The craftsmanship of the chairs tries to show the texture of the wood and the beauty of the craftsmanship details, so the mortise and tenon positions have left through the details of the craftsmanship. The seat surface, the back leg support and the side connectors all use the whole board, hoping to show a natural The most unique beauty of wood grain. Although this chair is a summary of my creative stage, it was also summed up from some constantly tried structures and my own works before, and this chair will continue to grow and improve, and more new works will be derived. The name of this chair is "Pian Chair", which is inspired by the structure of Chinese characters, and the beauty presented by the structure is what I always pay attention to in my creation. The design of the chair is ever-changing, and I will focus more on making furniture within my ability.
